Nurses demand safer needles to prevent the 70,000 injuries across Canada each year

TORONTO (CP) – Some 70,000 Canadian health-care professionals are accidentally pricked by a needle each year and endure a battery of tests for disease even though safety-engineered needles that dramatically reduce the risk are available, workers’ groups said Tuesday.
