This nationwide survey, commissioned by the AARP Bulletin, finds that almost one-quarter of consumers age 18+ are not confident about being able to afford their home energy costs this winter. Many plan to take steps such as weatherproofing their homes and lowering the temperature setting on their thermostats. Almost two-thirds believe that the country is facing an energy shortage.
